Jordan Brand XX8 Days Of Flight: Air Jordan X

Today we take a look back at the Air Jordan X in the XX8 Days Of Flight.
The Air Jordan X was originally released in 1995. It became the second Air Jordan signature shoe made while Michael Jordan continued to pursue a career in professional baseball. However, on March 19th, 1995 he returned to the NBA. With that, he brought his baseball uniform number "45" with him and it was donned on his player exclusive Air Jordan X's. Shortly after MJ returning to wearing his famous number "23" and the rest they say, is history. Here is what Jordan Brand had to say about the Air Jordan X:

"Underneath the Air Jordan X’s clean lines and speed-lacing system is a lightweight Phylon midsole encasing full-length Air. With MJ’s return to the game uncertain, the X’s outsoles commemorated his awe-inspiring achievements. Rock your ‘tens’ today for Day 10 of XX8 Days Of Flight."

What some people may not know is that the original design of the Air Jordan X was disliked by MJ. Tinker designed it and put it into production for the first time ever without getting MJ's permission and the end result was the extra leather pieces found on the toe area. Due to MJ's disliking, this design was changed and they took the extra leather off the toe area to give it a cleaner look which everyone sees today. Only the original "Steel Grey" colorway of the Air Jordan X released with the extra leather on the toe area, all future colorways feature the look we still see today.

After their original release in 1995, it wasn't until ten years later in 2005 that the Air Jordan 10 Retro was released for the first time. Since then, we have seen them return in 2008 and 2012. A few original colorways have yet to be retroed while some of them are still highly sought after to this day. At this time, the Air Jordan 10 Retro is not set to release in 2013 however, rumblings are that the original "Steel Grey" colorway might return near the end of the year. For now nothing is confirmed but if/when they do, I will be sure to update everyone. Stay tuned to the 2013 Release Dates section as I will post the info there first if/when I receive it.

For now, enjoy the images below of this sample black and volt green colorway of the Air Jordan X made exclusively to celebrate the Jordan XX8 Days Of Flight Collection.
