Air Jordan 9 Retro DB "Doernbecher" White/Metallic Gold-Black

The Air Jordan 9 Retro will become the sixth Jordan Brand Doernbecher release. Designed by Oswaldo Jimenez, they are set to release on Friday, November 30th.
Coming in a clean white, metallic gold and black colorway. They feature a white-based leather upper with black and gold accents sitting on a full icy blue translucent outsole, which is a first for the Air Jordan IX. The world "Pollito" is found on the tongue tag while the number 17 is stitched on the back heel. September 13th is found on the inside of the tongue and, if you flip the shoes over you will see a green design on the bottom of the right shoe and a red design on the bottom of the left shoe.

Here is a short breakdown for the inspiration of this Air Jordan 9 Retro DB:

Last December, after a series of fainting spells, Oswaldo Jimenez (11) was given a life-changing diagnosis: severe pulmonary hypertension. The once very active boy now has to be cautious with the amount of energy he exerts. Oswaldo is very close to his family, and drew inspiration for his shoe from his Mexican heritage. “Pollito,” which means little chicken, is Oswaldo’s nickname. It’s lasered in a feather pattern on the sockliner and also featured on the tongue. His favorite number, 17, is on the back heel. Oswaldo’s birthday, September 13, is on the inside of the tongue. Finally, the red and green outsole pays homage to his hometown of Queretaro, Mexico.

Last December, after a series of fainting spells, Oswaldo was given a life-changing diagnosis: severe pulmonary hypertension. The once very active boy now has to be cautious with the amount of energy he exerts. Oswaldo is very close to his family, and drew inspiration for his shoe from his Mexican heritage with a little help from his younger brother, Aviram. Oswaldo's custom Air Jordan plays up his nickname with a lasered feather patten and fighting chicken graphic on the sock liner as well as the word "Pollito" on the tongue. He's so proud of his heritage that he made one outsole red and the other green as a shout-out to his hometown of Queretaro, Mexico. You will also find some lucky digits: his favorite number (#17) on the back heel and his birthday (September 13) inside the tongue.
