Air Jordan 5 Retro White/Dark Army-Del Sol Sample Available On eBay

When a shoe is being designed, it goes through many sample stages before it finally goes into production. This Air Jordan 5 Retro Sample is one that was different that the released version. Check out the auction here.
Now, a lot of people probably don't remember a colorway similar to these releasing at all. Well in 2009, a pair did release but, never made it to the U.S. The released version featured a white patent leather upper with brown contrast stitching along with the number "23" stitched in the heels in brown and outlined in army green. A brown tongue and laser print design on the sockliner like 2007s "Laser" Air Jordan 5 Retro RA release. The midsole was army green and the flame was white with brown speckles in it sitting on a translucent del sol yellow outsole.

As you can see here, the finished product was very different than this sample. The sample features a full white patent leather upper and sockliner with a brown tongue. No number "23" on the heels of these and, the midsole is army green with a brown flame. A unique outsole where the front is clear and the back is del sol yellow, both parts translucent. The laser print design found on the sockliner of the released version is found on the bottom of the sole in the clear area. Even with the 2009 release being limited and hard to get, this unreleased sample version is even harder.

Enjoy the images below of this rare unreleased Air Jordan 5 Retro sample. I have also included an image of the released version for those looking to see the differences. If you'd like to add these to your collection you're in luck! Click here to grab them on eBay.
